Vision

Founded in 2007 by an ex investment banker from Lehman Brothers, The School of Investment Banking ("SIB") is India’s first dedicated investment banking and equity research training institute. SIB is committed to training and developing the next generation of financial analysts through its cutting edge Full Time Course in Investment Banking and Equity Research. We are a centre of excellence that enables qualified candidates to fast track their respective careers in mainstream finance by imparting practical training.

SIB was set up with a simple vision : to provide a platform to young achievers from diverse backgrounds and enable them to enter mainstream finance. In India, there are limited career opportunities for pre MBA freshers, engineers or other working professionals in mainstream finance for example. Only a handful of MBAs and CAs are given an opportunity to work in mainstream finance. SIB is trying to change this mindset by engaging in discussions with recruiters and encouraging them to take a "skills" based approach to recruiting as opposed to a "MBA/CA" centric approach. After all, if freshers and engineers from a range of backgrounds can work in mainstream finance in the West straight after college, then why can't they in India?

This change in mindset is starting to happen! SIB has already placed a number of freshers, engineers and other working professionals in investment banking and equity research jobs and provided a platform to these individuals to realize their respective careers goals.
