The salary offered to a particular candidate depends on their respective academic and professional profile. Therefore, the concept of average salary can be quite misleading. Having said that, SIB has placed candidates with a base salary range from 3 to 11 lacs a year. In addition to this, candidates have the opportunity to earn a performance related bonus which can be quite substantial in mainstream finance.

What is profile offered to SIB candidates?

Candidates are typically placed as an entry level analyst in either the Investment Banking Division(IBD) or Equity Research. The job function revolves around corporate finance/investment banking/Mergers and Acquisitions(M&A)/equity research. A career in these fields is not only intellectually stimulating but is financially rewarding at the same time. Day today tasks tend to revolve around basic research, fundamental analysis, company valuation, financial modeling/ number crunching, preparation of pitch books and presentations etc.
