FACULTY

Chaitanya Kumar

Chaitanya founded SIB after working with Lehman Brothers in London and Mumbai. Chaitanya helped Lehman Brothers to establish their Investment Banking outsourcing business in India. His role revolved around training Lehman Brothers' analysts and provided him valuable insight into both project management and business development. In London, Chaitanya worked in the Telecoms M&A team where key transactions included :

  • The €1.2bn sale of Bivideon's stake in Ceske Radiokomunikace and T-Mobile Czech Republic to a consortium comprising Mid Europa Partners, Lehman Brothers Private Equity and Al Bateen Investments
  • The €1.6bn sale of TIM Hellas to Apax & Texas Pacific Group
  • The $4.5bn disposal of Telesystem International Wireless (TIW) to Vodafone
  • Sale of 51% stake in Intracom Telecom to Sistema Group for €440m
  • £80m convertible bond issue for Pipex Communications Plc

Prior to Lehman Brothers, Chaitanya worked with Arthur Andersen in London providing Assurance Advisory services to leading financial institutions. Chaitanya completed his MSc. in Banking and International Finance from the Sir John Cass Business School, London. He graduated from the University of Leeds with a first class honors degree in Accounting & Finance.

How do placements work?

At SIB we have deep contacts with recruiters in the City. We send your CV to the right recruiters/ decision makersand fight hard for your CV till such time you have a couple of interviews. Then it’s up to you to work your magic in interviews. Please note, we don’t rely on head hunters.

Will I get a full time job or an internship?

At SIB, we will always endeavour to get you a full time job first. Having said that, we encourage candidates to keep an open mind for a paid internship as well. Internships go a long way in helping secure full time roles eventually. SIB is a platform to get your foot into the door.

WHAT IS THE JOB PROFILE OFFERED TO SIB CANDIDATES?

Candidates are typically placed as entry level analysts in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Equity Research & Private Equity. These are highly analytical jobs and day to day tasks revolve around basic research, fundamental analysis, company valuation, financial modeling and number crunching, report writing, preparation of pitch books etc. A career in these job profiles is both intellectually stimulating and financially rewarding.

WILL I GET A CERTIFICATE UPON COMPLETION?

Candidates who secure 60% on assessments and complete the program successfully will be awarded a SIB completion certificate. Having said that, we encourage candidates to rise above the mind set of “collecting” certificates. What matters is that top recruiters hire from SIB regularly. That in itself is the best certification there could be!
